New Delhi: Due to cyclonic storms, where heavy rain and strong winds are blowing in the coastal areas, its effect is visible in other states. State governments are alert about this storm. At the same time, there is a western disturbance over north Pakistan and adjoining areas. Another cyclonic circulation can be seen over the central parts of Assam. The effect of all this is being seen in the states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Heavy rains have been recorded in Madhya Pradesh and most parts of Rajasthan due to the impact. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be rain at many places in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, and Gujarat.
According to news agency Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, a very severe cyclone is expected to make landfall on Somnath or Amreli on the south Gujarat coast in the midnight or early morning of 18 May. At landfall the wind speed can be 170 kmph with a speed of 150–160 kmph. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at many places along Gujarat and North Maharashtra coast. Light to moderate rains with few heavy spells may occur over Kerala, Konkan and Goa, parts of South Rajasthan in Madhya Pradesh. Light to moderate rains are likely over Northeast India, Lakshadweep, Interior Tamil Nadu and Interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rains may occur over the western Himalayas, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and isolated parts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
There may be heavy rains in Delhi, the temperature will come down
The Meteorological Department estimates that the effect of Western Disturbance being active in North India will also be visible from Monday on Delhi’s weather. Due to this, the movement of clouds will continue and there can be thunder-glow in the evening. On Tuesday, strong wind and light rain are expected on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Due to this, there will be a significant drop in temperature. Even on Wednesday and Thursday, the maximum temperature can fall to 32 ° C.
UP’s weather will change due to storm
The weather patterns will change once again in the state. Due to western disturbance with storm storm, there is a possibility of showers with cloud movement in the state for the next two-three days. Director of the Meteorological Center, Lucknow, JP Gupta said that from Tuesday, the mood of the weather will change again. However, there will be movement of clouds in Lucknow on Monday as well. At the same time, showers may also occur in some places in the state. He informed that there is a possibility of change in the state due to the storm. At the same time, there is a Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir due to which there is a possibility of showers with clouds at isolated places on May 18-19.
Uttarakhand, Yellow alert of rain-snowfall since 18
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain and strong winds for May 18 and 19. The weather is likely to change again after the weather remains dry for one day on the 17th. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain, thundershowers, snowfall in Uttarkashi, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag districts on Sunday. Weather will remain dry in the remaining places. On Monday even in the mountainous areas, light rain may occur at some places. In the remaining districts, the weather will be completely dry and there will be good sunshine. The weather will change once again from 18 and there may be light to moderate and heavy rain, snowfall in the mountainous districts. On 19th, heavy rains are expected in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh districts and rain is also expected in the plains. Also, strong gusting winds can occur. According to meteorologist Rohit Thapliyal, the weather will be bad on 20 and 21 also.
Heavy rain alert in Madhya Pradesh
According to the Meteorological Department, there was light rain in different parts of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday evening due to active cyclonic storms in the coastal areas of the Arabian Sea. Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Ujjain, and Jabalpur divisions and other parts of Madhya Pradesh received light rain on Sunday evening and winds at a speed of 32 km per hour in some places. Due to the storm, moisture is coming in Madhya Pradesh, due to which there are strong winds along with rains in different parts of the state. It has been reported that from Monday to the next two days, there may be thunderstorms and strong winds at a speed of 45 to 50 km per hour in western parts of Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, there are chances of strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour in the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh for the next two days from Monday.
There will be rain in many areas of Rajasthan
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in several districts of Udaipur and Jodhpur divisions in Rajasthan on Tuesday due to the impact of the storm. The meteorological department said that the maximum impact of this cyclone will be on 18 and 19 May in Rajasthan and during this period one to two districts of the Udaipur division may receive up to 200 mm of rain. Due to this cyclone, on the one hand, it will be in the rain, while the temperature can also fall by four to five degrees Celsius. During this time, thunderstorms and strong winds can occur at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour. On May 19, the effect of this cyclone will be seen in the districts of Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota division, due to which there is a forecast of moderate to heavy rains in some places with thunderstorms.
Five die in Udaipur due to lightning strikes with thunderstorms and heavy rain
Due to the storm, there has been considerable loss of life in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Five people have died in the division due to lightning strikes during thunderstorms and rains. They include two children. Drizzle was continued in most parts of the division on Sunday night, while thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain also occurred at many places. During this time, life became disturbed. Trees and electric poles were uprooted in many places in the rural area. Tin-tappers flew away and also caused loss of life. Four in Dungarpur in the Udaipur division, while one person died of lightning in Pratapgarh. The district administration has been ordered to provide financial assistance of Rs. Four lakh to the kin of the deceased. On the other hand, on May 18 and 19, heavy rains with strong winds are expected in some districts of the division.
