Bell Bottom movie was officially announced in November 2019 with the release date of Republic Day 2021. The film Bell Bottom is based on true events, and the story follows some of the most unforgettable heroes of that era during the 1980s. It is Vaani Kapoor’s first film not to be produced by Yash Raj Films, and became the first Bollywood film to begin shooting in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Shooting in India was halted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The theatrical premiere of the film in January 2020 was postponed to 2 April 2021. The cast and crew of the film flew to Glasgow, Scotland in the first week of August 2020. Filming finally began on 20 August 2020 and the film wrapped in London. on 30 September. The film’s release was postponed due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic across India. The film was finally released theatrically in 3D on 19 August 2021.

Bell Bottom Movie Review

The story of the film Bell Bottom revolves around the hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC 691 taking off from Delhi on 24 August 1984. This was the fifth Indian Airlines hijack in the last seven years, and the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi (Lara Dutta) was furious at the hijacking.

While Prime Minister Indira Gandhi plans to negotiate with the Pakistani government for the four hijackers (when the plane has landed in Lahore). Under-cover RAW agent Anshul Malhotra (Akshay Kumar), code-named Bell Bottom, has a different plan. He not only wants to rescue 210 passengers, but also wants to arrest the kidnappers. The rest of the story revolves around this secret mission to rescue the passengers of IC 691 in Dubai.
