Laal Singh Chaddha Release Date
Laal Singh Chaddha is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Advait Chandan from a screenplay written by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni. The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom18 Studios and Paramount Pictures. An adaptation of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump, which itself is based on Winston Groom’s 1986 novel of the same name, the film stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Naga Chaitanya.
Aamir Khan bought the film rights in early 2018. Which officially announced the film with its title on 14 March 2019. Laal Singh Chaddha has been shot in over 100 Indian locations. Principal photography began on 31 October 2019 in Chandigarh. However, production was halted in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. After the completion of the film, it has been delayed for a full year and the film, which was scheduled for theatrical release on Christmas 2020, has now been set for release in the theaters during Christmas 2021.

Laal Singh Chaddha has reportedly been shot in over 100 Indian locations. The principal photography of the film was started on 31 October 2019 with a muhurta shot by Khan’s mother Zeenat Hussain. The first schedule took place on 1 November in Chandigarh, Punjab and was completed within 21 days. His look with Aamir Khan’s thick beard and turban had gone viral. A romantic track featuring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor was shot on 28 November 2019 in Chandigarh.
The second schedule was started on 5th December 2019 in Kolkata. Aamir Khan and his team flew to Kerala in the second week of December, where pictures of Khan shooting from Thekkumbhagam, Changanassery and Kapil went viral. Khan completed the second schedule on 19 December 2019. The third schedule was completed on 12 February 2020 in Jaisalmer, Goa and Himachal Pradesh, and Khan went to Chandigarh for his next schedule. The team completed the final phase of shooting on 6 March 2020.
Due to the India-China standoff along the Galwan Valley, Aamir decided to resume the shooting of the film in Turkey to reconcile the new shoot. On 7 September 2020, Aamir Khan resumed the shooting of the film in Mumbai, with safety measures and guidelines as directed by the government. Aamir and his team flew to Delhi to shoot some portions of which pictures of their younger version went viral.
In July 2021, Aamir Khan and his team flew to Ladakh, where they spent some months shooting battle scenes. After finishing the Ladakh program, the team reached Srinagar in the first week of August. In Srinagar, the film was shot at various locations and completed shooting for its portions by August 2021.
Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan were seen resuming the shooting of the film in Mumbai on September 13. After completing the portion together last year, the two reunited for the patchwork shoot in Andheri. The film ended on 16 September 2021.
