Prithviraj Movie Release Date

Prithviraj is an Indian Hindi-language historical action drama film directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Yash Raj Films. The film is based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan. It featured Akshay Kumar as Prithviraj Chauhan, while Manushi Chhillar made her Hindi film debut by playing the role of his beloved wife Sanyogita. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij, and Lalit Tiwari in other important roles.

An official motion poster of the film was released by Yash Raj Films on 9 September 2020. To make its official announcement and reveal that it will release in theaters on Diwali 2020. But the film was postponed for some time due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. Shooting resumed in October 2020 at YRF Studios and is now slated to release in theaters on 21 JAN 2022, coinciding with Diwali.

The teaser of the historical drama film ‘Prithviraj’ based on the life of the last Hindu emperor of India Prithviraj Chauhan has been launched. Superstar Akshay Kumar is playing the role of the great warrior Prithviraj Chauhan in this film being produced under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Sanjay Dutt, Manushi Chhillar, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana and Sakshi Tanwar are also going to be seen in the lead roles with him. The film has been directed by Dr Chandra Prakash Dwivedi. The film is going to be released in theaters on 21 January 2022, in which the saga of indomitable courage and valor of Prithviraj Chauhan will be shown.

In the teaser, Akshay Kumar is seen fighting with his fellow soldiers wearing armor in the battlefield. The warrior look of actor Sanjay Dutt standing in the battlefield also looks strong. Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar, who is going to make her Bollywood debut with this film, looks very beautiful playing the role of Sanyogita, wife of Prithviraj Chauhan.

The story of the film ‘Prithviraj’ is based on the book ‘Prithviraj Raso’ by Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan’s poet Chandbardai. One of his compositions ‘Mat Chuke Chauhan’ is very popular even today. This poem was composed by Chandrabardai in the 12th century. Addressing Prithviraj Chauhan, he wrote, “Four bamboo twenty-four yards Angul Asht Praman ta Upar Sultan hai, don’t miss Chauhan!” Here the mention of Sultan i.e. Mohammad Ghori, who had imprisoned the emperor by deceit. Prithviraj, who defeated Ghori 16 times in the war, forgave him every time. But for the 17th time he defeated the emperor with the help of Raja Jaichand.

Direction and Music

Doctor Chandra Prakash Dwivedi, who studied medicine, is directing the film ‘Prithviraj’. Doctor Sahab is known for the famous TV serial ‘Chanakya’. After this, he also directed the film ‘Pinjar’ based on the Indo-Pak partition released in the year 2003. He has mastered the filming of mythological characters, which is hardly the reason why Yash Raj and Akshay Kumar have expressed confidence in his direction. The music of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy will be heard in the film. The background score composed by Sanchit-Anchit also looks perfect according to the theme of the film. VFX has also been used meticulously.
