RRR (film)

RRR is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language action drama film directed by SS Rajamouli and produced by DVV Danayya of DVV Entertainments. The film stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan in the lead roles, while Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt have been roped in for some of the best scenes in the film. Also, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson, Olivia Morris, and Shriya Saran are seen in supporting roles. It is a fictional story about two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao). who fought against the British Raj and the Nizam of Hyderabad respectively.

Rajamouli wrote the screenplay of the film RRR from the original story written by KV Vijayendra Prasad. Set in 1920, the plot explores an unspecified period in their lives, when both revolutionaries choose to go into oblivion before starting a fight for their country.

RRR Movie Release Date

The film was formally announced in March 2018 and the principal photography of the film began in November 2018 in Hyderabad. The film was extensively shot across India, with some scenes in Ukraine and Bulgaria. The budget of the film RRR is ₹400 crores (US$53 million). The film RRR was scheduled to release theatrically on 30 July 2020. Which has been postponed several times due to production delays and subsequent COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, the film is scheduled to release theatrically on 25 March 2022.

RRR movie is Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt’s debut movie in Telugu. Alia Bhatt is playing the character of Sita in this film while Ajay Devgn can be seen in some parts of this film. Tamil actor Samuthirakani was roped in to play a pivotal role. British actress Daisy Edgar-Jones was signed on to pair with Rama Rao. However, he left the project citing personal reasons.

Olivia Morris was cast as her replacement in November 2019. That same month, Hollywood actor Ray Stevenson (of Thor fame) was cast as the main antagonist Scott. Alison Doody played the role of Lady Scott. Chakri, Varun Buddhadev, and Spandan Chaturvedi were the child actors for the film, reprising younger versions of the characters played by Charan, Rama Rao, and Bhatt.
