In Kokkayar, an NDRF team exhumed the body of a 3-year-old boy. Also, two people who are still missing are being investigated. The death toll from two separate landslides in Kavali and Plapalli in Kottayam has risen to 15, with 12 people killed. So three people have drowned. Six members of the same family, including three children, were killed and buried at St. Mary’s Church in Kavali on Monday.
Floods and landslides have left some residents of Mundakayam area in Idukki homeless. Meanwhile, heavy rains eased on Monday but it is still raining in some places. Authorities have issued a red alert on 10 dams. So this situation is not suitable for a religious place. Similarly, devotees coming to the temple have been banned again.
