Chelsea are prepared to make an improved transfer offer to sign Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to Ben Jacobs.
The Blues are determined to sign a defensive midfielder this month and they have their sights on pursuing Caicedo from the Seagulls.
Their opening offer of £55 million was dismissed by the south Coast outfit, but the club are preparing a fresh proposal for the Ecuadorian.
Brighton don’t have any plans to sell him at the moment, but it is claimed that their stance could change for a fee of around £80 million.
It will be interesting to see whether the Blues are prepared to meet their demands for Caicedo, who has the potential to be world-class.
Kante’s presence has been limited in the past few years amid injuries and Caicedo could be a straightforward replacement for him.
