Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard has said that he supports the club’s forthcoming decision on Cristiano Ronaldo.
The England star was a frustrated figure during his final season at Manchester United. He was keen to leave the club, but the hierarchy decide to keep him.
Despite this, he never spoke ill about United and has now backed the club to do the right thing after Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
He told TalkSPORT: “It’s his [Ronaldo’s] situation. I dealt with my own situation with the club. Also, we kept it behind closed doors but we still ended on good terms of course, so I support the club.”
United are yet to terminate his contract. They are probably looking into any loopholes to release him without having to pay a compensation fee.
