For a fan of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, meeting the former India captain could be a once-in-a lifetime opportunity. The ace cricketer recently attended an event in Bengaluru where many social media influencers got a chance to share a stage with him.
Ishan Sharma, a YouTube content creator, shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) that showed him standing next to Dhoni on stage. “OMG I JUST MET DHONI! STILL can’t believe it!” Sharma wrote as he posted the video along with “Besabriyaan”, a song from Dhoni’s biopic. He looked smitten by his idol.
Nidhi Chaudhary, a YouTuber who posts videos about astrology, also posted a video from the same event showing Dhoni on the stage. “Seeing Dhoni live for the first time,” she wrote in the caption.She also posted a group photo that featured her and Dhoni.
Last month, a man had the experience of a lifetime when he got an opportunity to sit next to the 42-year-old cricketer on an IndiGo flight. Chandan Sinha, who posted his photo with Dhoni on Instagram, said that even though his home was less than 1 km from Dhoni’s house in Ranchi, he had never bumped into him.
Sinha wrote “God had it all planned” as a last-minute seat change from the last row to the second would lead to be the best two and a half hours of his life. As he took his seat, Sinha heard a familiar voice asking him to let him pass to the window seat. “A surreal encounter with Mahi, was an absolute dream come true,” he wrote.
